Eagle Boy Scouts in the process of earning the highest badge
for a scout play a very important role as volunteers in the York County
Parks. In 2008, they completed projects ranging from building benches,
bridges, and trails, and created landscape gardens as well as other
projects.
Scouts are required to plan, design, and oversee the construction of their
project to earn an Eagle badge. Most Eagle Scout service projects completed
within the parks average from 150 to 300 volunteer hours. In 2008, scouts
completing their Eagle Scout projects volunteered over 1,500 hours! We
should note that less than 10% of all scouts in America obtain the rank of
Eagle Scout! Below is a listing of scout projects that were completed in
2008: Good work scouts!
Stephen Bruck—Designed and built a canopy table and a two-seat canopy bench
in John Rudy County Park.
